A soup kitchen service opportunity your kids will love!
All Saints Episcopal, on Main Street, near downtown, has a soup kitchen ministry that serves a free community lunch every Thursday. The second Thursday of every school year month is prepared and served by homeschool families. Three to four families are assigned to each 2nd Thursday. These teams serve every third month, equaling three service times a year.
Families arrive at 11 and are generally done with clean up by 1 pm. Each family is assigned a food item to bring (6 gallons of soup, large salad to feed 100, or 100 cookies or bars). Families can have lunch together following their service time. The church does have a nursery where little ones too young to help can play.
The soup kitchen is in need of four more families to join the other committed families. Email me at mrssarabloom @ or call 701-833-8215 if you are interested in watching your kids sweep and mop with smiles on their faces.
I have a friend who is organizing a few field trips Sept-Dec if any of you'd like to join us!
